ST. LOUIS. (March 4, 2021) – Cody Hawkins, of Total Transportation Logistics, Inc. in Mira Loma, California, was awarded Mayflower Transit’s Van Operator of the Year in the logistics category. The award recognizes his outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. Mayflower President and CEO Marc Rogers presented the award to Hawkins virtually at the company’s recent conference held in early March.
Hawkins has more than 20 years in the industry working in various roles. He estimates he has driven nearly 1.5 million miles over the years. Hawkins primarily moves medical equipment into hospitals and believes safety is very important. As COVID-19 emerged over the past year, Hawkins was not only focused on safety upkeep for his equipment, but for himself and his counterparts. “COVID-19 has been quite a challenge this year since most of my deliveries are in and out of hospitals,” Hawkins said. “Masks are worn all the time, and I have probably been temperature checked this year more than any other human on this earth!”

There are more than 1,600 drivers in the Mayflower system, and Hawkins was one of three winners this year. The van operator of the year began in the 1990s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
